Cottonwood: use the Transfer Station for big items
Cottonwood’s free June 2026 spring clean-up has passed. The City continues to list a permanent transfer station, but its ordinary fees and acceptance must be checked.
Quick answer
The City lists Cottonwood Transfer Station at 1500 W Mingus Avenue, phone 928-530-0255, operating Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., with an 11:30 a.m.–noon lunch closure. Its free June 11–13, 2026 Spring Clean-Up has ended. During that event, furniture, mattresses and box springs were accepted; that does not guarantee ordinary-day free entry or acceptance. Call before loading a bulky item.
What to do
- Step 1. Call the Cottonwood Transfer Station and name your furniture, mattress, appliance or debris load; ask whether ordinary-day drop-off is accepted and at what fee.
- Step 2. Check current hours and any required identification or load restrictions; City information shows an 11:30 a.m. to noon lunch break.
- Step 3. Secure furniture during transport; do not take prohibited materials such as refrigerant appliances or hazardous items without express approval.
- Step 4. Do not rely on the June 2026 free Spring Clean-Up rules for an October drop-off. Watch official City notices for the next separately announced event.
What about my item?
The City explicitly accepted these during the June 2026 event; call the transfer station for today’s acceptance and pricing.
Included in the past clean-up accepted list, with ordinary-day rules subject to confirmation.
The June event excluded appliances containing Freon; ask where refrigerant equipment can be processed safely.
The clean-up notice excluded hazardous items, liquids and most tires; find a specialized route.
Fees, dates and eligibility
The free June 11–13 City event has expired. No current normal transfer-station bulky price is established by the City facility listing, so this guide deliberately publishes no blanket free-disposal claim.
Before setting items outside
Confirm the current official instructions for the exact address. Never put furniture at the curb or arrive with an appliance based only on a past event or old tariff.
