How Tucson Brush & Bulky works
Tucson crews visit each of the City’s 26 residential trash-service areas twice per year. The City’s residential service page says municipal residential trash service covers single-family homes and multifamily dwellings with four units or fewer. Each household can set out up to 10 cubic yards for the scheduled Brush & Bulky collection. Material above the published maximum is not taken. Use the City’s address lookup or current schedule to find the correct collection week.

Set-out and placement
Have the pile ready by 6 a.m. Monday of the scheduled collection week. Do not set it out more than two weeks early. Current City guidance says material should be placed in front of the home in most service areas and kept at least 3 feet from all obstacles, including carts and utility meters.
Collection may occur any time during the assigned week, so the pile should remain accessible until crews arrive.
Furniture, appliances and tires
Accepted bulky material includes furniture, carpet and household appliances. Refrigerator/freezer doors must be removed before collection.
Residents can include up to 5 automobile tires per scheduled collection. Tires must be placed in a separate pile.
Brush, cactus, lumber and metal
Brush can be up to approximately 5 feet long and 24 inches in diameter. Cacti must be boxed for worker safety and are subject to a 25-pound limit. Lumber, scrap metal and pipe are accepted when cut to about 5 feet or shorter; lumber should be separated from the main pile as directed.
What is not accepted
Tucson excludes televisions and computer monitors from Brush & Bulky. It also excludes concrete, construction material, dirt, stone, rock, gravel, glass/mirrors and household hazardous waste such as paint, oil, pesticides and solvents.
Those categories need a specialized recycling, HHW or construction-debris route rather than being hidden in a bulky pile.
Need service before the scheduled week?
Tucson offers an on-demand Special Brush and Bulky collection that can be requested through Environmental Services or by phone at 520-791-3171. The current public Brush & Bulky page confirms the service but does not publish a simple current fee in the page text, so residents should confirm the price when booking rather than relying on an older fee quote.
