Sartell bulky items: call the hauler you chose

Sartell residents choose a refuse hauler. The City names three current providers rather than offering a single City-operated bulky collection day.

Quick answer

The City of Sartell lists three refuse providers: Republic Services (320-252-9608), Waste Management (320-253-6491) and West Central Sanitation (800-246-7630). Ask your own company whether it will collect your couch, mattress, box spring or appliance and at what price. City water/sewer service does not by itself establish a municipal bulky pickup entitlement.

What to do

  1. Step 1. Locate your monthly trash statement or ask your building management which of the City-listed refuse companies holds your account.
  2. Step 2. Call the correct company, describe each bulky item and confirm whether pickup, a separate truck or self-hauling is required.
  3. Step 3. Get the fee and pickup date in advance, including any mattress wrapping, refrigerator safety or weight requirements.
  4. Step 4. Place items outside only when the company confirms its local instructions. If your provider will not take the item, ask for a permitted alternative disposal location.

What about my item?

Sofas, chairs and mattresses

Special collection is company-specific. Do not assume an item will be collected with the normal cart.

Large appliances

Ask the provider about extra charges and safe refrigerant handling.

Paints, pesticides and solvents

The City’s FAQ points residents to the separate Stearns County/Tri-County household hazardous waste route.

Leaves and branches

The City compost site is for specified organic materials, not furniture or mattresses.

Fees, dates and eligibility

Sartell’s older FAQ mentions an additional company, but the current City resident-resource page lists the three providers above. Confirm account and licensed service area before relying on a number.

Before setting items outside

Verify the precise service address and current acceptance, costs and preparation requirements with your City or authorized provider. Policies and availability can change.
