Humble bulky trash: follow the licensed hauler’s schedule
The City’s ordinance spells out when and where to set furniture out. Collection acceptance, price and the pickup day come from the resident’s licensed hauler.
Quick answer
In Humble city limits, bulky waste such as furniture and appliances may be placed for pickup only under the customer’s solid-waste operator’s published guidelines. The City requires set-out no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before collection; bulky items must be within 4 feet of the curb and at least 3 feet from fixed objects. Book and confirm your hauler first—these curb rules do not guarantee an automatic free furniture pickup.
What to do
- Step 1. Verify that the property is inside the City of Humble rather than simply having a Humble postal address.
- Step 2. Find the licensed waste operator servicing your residence and request its current bulky-item collection day, acceptance list and price.
- Step 3. Only after collection is confirmed, place approved items no earlier than 6 p.m. the preceding evening, within four feet of the curb and clear of sidewalks and obstacles.
- Step 4. Keep a minimum of three feet from mailboxes, parked cars and other fixed objects; remove empty bins by 8 a.m. the following morning.
What about my item?
The code includes them in its bulky-waste definition; the hauler’s published rules control actual acceptance.
Covered by a separate operator guideline under City Code §12.03.043(j); obtain preparation instructions.
The ordinance’s bulky definition mentions up to four cubic yards of eligible DIY debris. This is a definition, not a free pickup allowance.
City Code forbids placing contractor-project construction and demolition waste into residential curbside collection.
Fees, dates and eligibility
Humble does not grant one exclusive City trash franchise through this ordinance. It requires licensed collectors; rates, appointment requirements and bulky item limits vary by operator.
Before setting items outside
Verify the precise service address and current acceptance, costs and preparation requirements with your City or authorized provider. Policies and availability can change.
