01

Quick answer

Irving’s regular solid-waste system includes a weekly brush/bulky route. Check the address schedule and have accepted material at the curb by 7 a.m., with set-out beginning after 6 p.m. the prior evening.

The current bulky limit is four items per week. Keep brush and bulky material arranged according to the City’s collection guidance.

02

Furniture, mattresses and household bulky material

Common bulky examples include sofas, chairs, tables and mattresses—household pieces that a crew can move safely.

Do not exceed the four-item weekly limit and do not convert a pile of loose debris into multiple “items.”

Use the normal 6 p.m. prior-evening to 7 a.m. collection-day window, with piles two to three feet apart at the utility-service address. Contractor brush is the contractor’s responsibility; accepted bundled brush must fit four-foot/fifty-pound limits.

03

Appliances, electronics, tires and hazardous items

TVs and household appliances are listed for weekly bulky collection, within the four-item limit. Tires are not collected at the curb. Current Waste Collection and Landfill pages allow five passenger/light-truck tires per calendar year free at Hunter Ferrell; extra tires cost $5 each. An Illegal Dumping page still says four, so confirm the remaining allowance before hauling.

Irving also schedules certain household chemicals: call 972-721-2232 by 9 a.m. on a trash day. Paint must be sealed, with a limit of one five-gallon can or five one-gallon cans per collection. Used oil is limited to one gallon and five securely bagged filters; antifreeze/transmission fluid is limited to one gallon. Lithium batteries are not collected curbside or accepted at Hunter Ferrell.

04

Renovation debris and larger cleanouts

Construction debris and fencing are excluded from ordinary weekly bulky collection. Renovation waste should go to an authorized facility or private service.

If a cleanout mixes furniture with project debris, separate them before collection day.

Before set-out

  1. Verify the service address. Confirm that City of Irving Solid Waste Services or its listed provider actually serves the property.

Official sources

The current Solid Waste collection pages agree on four bulky items per week and up to five passenger tires per calendar year at the landfill. A separate City illegal-dumping page still uses conflicting four-tire wording, so the Solid Waste program page controls the guide’s tire limit.
