Quick answer
Provo’s 2026 fall cleanup uses attended dumpsters at rotating locations September 28–November 7, rather than normal weekly bulky furniture curbside pickup. Bring residency proof and verify the current week’s location.
Who qualifies
The City cleanup is for Provo residents who can produce proof of residency, such as a utility bill or photo ID. Materials must be brought to an approved staffed location at designated times, not left at the curb or beside a closed container.
Furniture, mattresses and appliances
Seasonal cleanup dumpsters are intended for approved household excess and oversized discards. Special waste restrictions apply: the City expressly excludes concrete, soil, rocks, hazardous liquids, chemicals, vehicle parts, tires and refrigerators/freezers/air conditioners from the cleanup dumpsters.
Before setting anything out
2026 ONLY — expires after November 7, 2026: The City’s fall cleanup runs September 28–November 7, 2026. Once that date passes, do not assume the same sites or dates are operating; replace this seasonal section when 2027 dates are published. Attended drop-off hours are generally Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.–3 p.m. at the rotating seasonal locations. The Provo City Compost Yard is also a listed ongoing seasonal collection point; verify material and actual site operating hours before travel.
What not to put in the bulky pile
Do not tell residents the seasonal dumpsters are free curbside pickup. Never leave waste at the cleanup site outside attended hours. Cooling appliances and household hazardous waste require approved off-site disposal.
Where to take other large items
Provo directs residents with appliances, electronics and regulated materials to South Utah Valley Solid Waste District resources, including the Dry Creek Transfer Station at 518 W 3450 N, Spanish Fork; check acceptance and fees.
