West Jordan bulk disposal: $75 first dumpster rental
West Jordan’s three 2026 free Dumpster Days have finished. Eligible residential garbage customers can still reserve a year-round paid City dumpster, but mattresses, box springs and refrigerators are prohibited.
Quick answer
The City’s fee schedule effective October 2026 lists $75 for the first dumpster rental in a calendar year, $250 for each additional rental, and a $20 cancellation fee. This is not a weekly free furniture pickup. Eligible residents need an active West Jordan garbage utility account and a City-limits service address.
How to arrange disposal
- Step 1. Make sure you have an active West Jordan garbage utility account for the City-limits property. The program is not for businesses.
- Step 2. Reserve via the City residential dumpster reservation page. The City allows one future reservation at a time; a second can be booked after the first reservation date has passed.
- Step 3. Before loading bulky goods, check the City’s excluded-item list. Do not place mattresses, box springs, refrigerators, tires, batteries or concrete in the rental dumpster.
- Step 4. For an excluded item, contact West Jordan Public Works at 801-569-5700 or the receiving disposal facility for another authorized route.
What about my item?
Ask if an individual sofa or other furniture piece is permitted in a rented dumpster; comply with posted capacity and safety limits.
Explicitly prohibited in the City rental dumpster and in the concluded October 24 free event. Arrange separate licensed disposal.
Explicitly barred from rental dumpsters; obtain a separate appliance recycling or disposal route.
The City excludes these materials along with batteries, liquids and several other categories. Do not mix them into bulk trash.
Fees and important limits
Published City rental fees are not a charge for regular curbside bulky pickup. The final 2026 free Dumpster Day was October 24 and is over; no future free event date is implied.
Before you set anything out
Check property eligibility and accepted material with the official provider. Do not leave large items at the curb or at a receiving site without authorization.
