Chula Vista trash & bulky-item rules

Chula Vista cart-service customers can schedule free bulky-item collection through Republic Services for up to 10 items per week, or 60 items in any 90-day period. The City also provides two landfill passes and two yard-waste passes per year; each pass is valid for 90 days after issuance.

Who qualifies matters. Residential cart-service customers; apartment and condominium residents generally need the manager or HOA to arrange service.

Furniture, mattresses, appliances and other listed household bulky items can use the Republic Services bulky route. Schedule at least 24 hours before the regular service day by calling 619-421-9400. Difficult-to-handle items over 60 pounds that cannot be handled with a hand truck may carry an extra charge.

Household hazardous waste is handled at the South Bay Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 1800 Maxwell Road. The City lists Wednesday and Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., except holiday closures.
