Quick answer

Glendale Public Works provides request-based bulky-item pickup for eligible residential properties. Use the City’s Bulky Item Pickup/MyGlendale request or call Integrated Waste Management at 818-548-3916 before placing items out.

The City’s residential recycling guidance says to schedule bulky collection at least three business days before the regular collection day. Follow the confirmation for your address if it gives a different set-out instruction.

02

Furniture, mattresses and appliances

Furniture and other oversized household items should use the requested bulky-item route rather than being left out without a service request. Confirm item count, preparation and placement when booking.

Appliances or items containing refrigerant, electronics, tires and other special materials may require separate handling. Check the City’s current item guidance or call 818-548-3916 before set-out.

03

Household hazardous waste and other special material

The City’s integrated-waste contact is the safest starting point for hazardous or special materials that do not belong in ordinary bulky pickup. Do not combine chemicals, batteries, propane, paint or other regulated material with a furniture pile unless the current City instructions explicitly allow it.

Properties with five or more units may use a different/franchised-hauler arrangement, so multifamily residents should confirm the serving provider before relying on the 1–4 unit City pickup process.
