Quick answer
Pasadena single-family customers receive two free bulky-item pickups per year.
Before you use the rule: Eligible City residential customers; multifamily service differs.
Furniture, mattresses and appliances
Furniture, mattresses, appliances and up to the published tire allowance can use the service. Schedule before set-out through the City.
The City advises booking at least two weeks before the regular trash day. Put approved items on the parkway no more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup and have them ready by 7 a.m.; pickups run Monday–Friday.
Household hazardous waste and other special material
Household hazardous waste is handled through Los Angeles County collection events/facilities rather than standard bulky pickup.
Where to take large items in Pasadena
Each free pickup is limited to roughly a 3-cubic-yard set-out (4 ft × 5 ft × 4 ft). Private-hauler properties must use their hauler.
