Roseville trash & bulky-item rules

Roseville has documented neighborhood cleanup events for bulky furniture and separate appointment-only household hazardous-waste collection. Neither establishes a universal weekly bulky-furniture curbside service.

Roseville provides item-specific disposal guidance and doorstep household hazardous waste service, but this research pass did not establish a single universal free bulky-pickup allowance.

Before you use the rule: City of Roseville solid-waste customers; confirm the correct route for the item before set-out.

The City documents 2026 spring cleanup events for furniture, appliances and mattresses; separate free household hazardous-waste appointments have quantity limits. Normal large-item disposal still depends on the item and current City instructions.

Furniture, mattresses and appliances

For large furniture, appliances and mattresses, Roseville’s July 20, 2026 municipal report confirms four spring neighborhood cleanup events accepted bulky items, with 2,191 vehicle visits. Those were specific events, not proof of year-round free curbside large-item pickup. Check current event dates and item-specific directions; do not leave a couch at the curb merely because a spring cleanup occurred.

Furniture and mattresses are often treated differently from appliances, electronics, tires or construction material. If the local confirmation gives a pickup date, follow that confirmation rather than treating the regular trash day as permission to set oversized items out.

3

Household hazardous waste and other special material

Separate program: Roseville’s free residential household hazardous-waste doorstep pickup requires an appointment. The published minimum is 20 pounds or five different item types; the maximum is 15 gallons or 125 pounds per appointment. Electronics, batteries and household chemicals are examples; this does not mean regular furniture qualifies. Business and contractor material is excluded.

Keep paint, chemicals, fuels, batteries, propane cylinders and other hazardous products out of a bulky pile unless the responsible local agency explicitly says otherwise. Refrigerant appliances, tires, electronics and renovation debris also commonly have separate rules.
