Santa Ana trash & bulky-item rules
Santa Ana’s Republic Services cart program includes four free bulky pickups per calendar year, with up to four items per pickup. Bin-served multifamily buildings use a different allowance: ten bulky items per unit per quarter, arranged through the property manager.

Quick answer
Santa Ana’s bulky service is appointment-based through Republic Services. For standard curbside residential service, the current program includes four free pickups each calendar year, with up to four bulky items on each scheduled collection.
For multifamily properties with bin service, the guide provides ten bulky items per unit each quarter; unused items do not roll over. The manager sets the collection location. Multifamily cart service follows the four-pickup, four-item annual arrangement. Call Republic at 657-467-6220 and identify the building’s service type.
Furniture, mattresses and household bulky material
The current accepted examples include refrigerators, beds, sofas, chairs, dishwashers, dressers, bookcases, washers, dryers and stoves.
Schedule first and place only the approved number of items. A whole-room pile is not automatically treated as four pieces.
Appliances, electronics, tires and hazardous items
The current program material also lists televisions, monitors and laptops among accepted electronics. Hazardous liquids, chemicals and other regulated materials still require the appropriate special-waste route.
For an appliance with refrigerant, follow any preparation instruction Republic gives when the appointment is booked.
Renovation debris and larger cleanouts
Construction and demolition debris, tires, automobile bodies and household hazardous waste are excluded from the household bulky program. Do not treat the four-item limit as permission for these materials.
Use the City/Republic disposal guidance for heavy debris and contractor waste.
