Gilbert trash & bulky-item rules
Gilbert collects accepted bulk about every five weeks, with holiday-week exceptions. Residents place material during the designated set-out window rather than booking each normal bulk collection.

Quick answer
Gilbert publishes a repeating bulk schedule. Material can be placed no earlier than the Saturday before the assigned collection week and must be ready by 5 a.m. Monday.
The Town skips or adjusts service around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday weeks, so use the current schedule instead of counting five weeks manually.
Ordinary bulk piles may be up to 10 feet long × 5 feet wide × 5 feet high. Paid special pickups can allow a 20-foot-long pile at the same width/height. Put accepted material in the street against the curb, at least five feet from obstructions, no earlier than Saturday before the week and by 5 a.m. Monday.
Furniture, mattresses and household bulky material
Accepted examples include furniture, mattresses, microwaves, dishwashers, toilets, boxed glass and certain yard material.
Refrigerators, washers, dryers and other listed large appliances are not part of ordinary bulk; Gilbert runs a separate appliance pickup service.
Cut accepted limbs to five feet or shorter and no more than twelve inches in diameter. Keep construction material out of the ordinary bulk pile.
Appliances, electronics, tires and hazardous items
Large refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters and air conditioners use separate appliance recycling. Up to two appliances cost $16 per trip during the assigned bulk week or $85 outside that week. Call 480-503-6400 to schedule and obtain preparation instructions.
Electronics, tires and household chemicals use the HHW facility. Its small-appliance acceptance excludes refrigerant-bearing equipment; a large refrigerator is not an HHW drop-off item.
Renovation debris and larger cleanouts
Construction debris and heavy project material can be excluded from the normal bulk route. Use the Town’s current disposal rules or transfer facility for those loads.
Oversize bulk can also be charged separately, so stay within the ordinary program limits shown for the collection week.
Local drop-off options and fees
Confirm the Gilbert pickup date, item limits and preparation rules before setting anything out.
Gilbert lists one included load at a designated transfer station every thirty days, up to one ton. Bring valid photo ID and the most recent Town utility bill; delinquent bills are not accepted. Use the designated stations in the official link, not an arbitrary private transfer station.
The Gilbert HHW facility serves Gilbert utility-paying residents with valid state/federal ID and their Town bill. Hours are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m.–2:30 p.m. The facility guide limits any one type of liquid to ten gallons per day. Check holiday closures and the current materials list before traveling.
Before set-out
- Verify the service address. Confirm that Town of Gilbert Solid Waste or its listed provider actually serves the property.
