Lincoln trash & bulky-item rules
Lincoln does not operate a citywide residential garbage route. Households contract with private refuse collectors, so couch, mattress and appliance pickup rules depend on the company serving the address.

Quick answer
Lincoln’s waste system is built around private collection. The City requires garbage service but does not publish one municipal bulky-pickup day that applies to every home.
That means the provider determines whether a bulky item is included, needs advance notice, carries an extra fee or must be self-hauled.
Furniture, mattresses and household bulky material
For furniture and mattresses, contact the existing refuse collector before set-out and ask for the current bulky procedure.
If the collector does not take the item, use a disposal or recycling facility that accepts it instead of leaving the piece beside the cart.
Appliances, electronics, tires and hazardous items
Appliances, electronics, tires, paint and chemicals often have separate recycling or disposal rules. The City publishes collector and waste-management resources that can point residents to the appropriate route.
Do not infer that a private garbage contract includes every special item.
Renovation debris and larger cleanouts
Construction debris is usually outside standard household cart service and may require a roll-off, transfer station or other paid disposal option.
For a large property cleanout, get the hauler’s price/volume rules before placing material outside.
Local drop-off options and fees
Confirm the Lincoln pickup date, item limits and preparation rules before setting anything out.
