Quick answer
Cincinnati bulk collection is not a leave-it-and-hope service. Submit the request through 311 and wait for the assigned collection information before set-out.
The City currently allows up to five bulk items per household request. Use the collection date assigned by 311; do not assume a separate Friday route.
Furniture, mattresses and household bulky material
Furniture, mattresses and other accepted household items can use the scheduled service. Set them out after 5 p.m. the day before and by 6 a.m. on the assigned day. Use the driveway apron where possible and leave traffic and sidewalks clear.
If you have more than five items, use another legal route or ask 311 about the next available option.
Tape glass in an X and cover sharp edges. Keep ordinary trash off the approved bulky items.
Appliances, electronics, tires and hazardous items
The current bulk FAQ accepts refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, stoves, washers and dryers. TVs weighing more than 45 pounds are listed as bulk; the FAQ directs smaller, light household items to regular refuse rather than a bulk appointment.
Tire collection requires its own request and accepts up to four tires. Batteries, liquids, chemicals and other listed hazardous materials are excluded from bulk; use the City’s disposal guidance or ask 311 for the current HHW route.
Renovation debris and larger cleanouts
Construction debris is not ordinary household bulk. Renovation material, contractor waste and heavy debris should be directed to an appropriate facility or paid service.
For a mixed cleanout, separate eligible furniture from debris before requesting the collection.
