Las Vegas trash & bulky-item rules
Republic Services runs Las Vegas-area solid waste. Use the service address to get the correct bulk calendar because a Las Vegas mailing address can fall under a different Southern Nevada jurisdiction.
Las Vegas, NV — start here
Start with the Republic Services address lookup
The City of Las Vegas does not operate its own municipal garbage-truck system. Republic Services is the franchised solid-waste provider, and the current Southern Nevada site publishes 2026 A/B bulk calendars by normal service day.
Residents should enter the service address rather than guessing from a Las Vegas mailing address. Republic also serves other Southern Nevada jurisdictions, including Clark County, North Las Vegas and Henderson, and the exact bulk day depends on the account location.
Furniture and mattresses: what Republic actually requires
Republic Services publishes Southern Nevada bulk calendars by normal service day and A/B week. The regional bulk service runs every other week; use the service-address lookup because a Las Vegas mailing address by itself does not identify the correct calendar.
For curbside bulk, Republic’s current set-out sheet says items must be 6 feet or shorter, loose trash must be contained, and wood cannot have exposed nails or screws. Soiled mattresses must be wrapped in plastic. Tree branches must be bundled, tied and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Crews collect from the curb and do not enter private property.
Refrigerators and other Freon-containing appliances are not accepted in the ordinary bulk pile; use Republic’s appliance/transfer-station route instead.
Appliances and electronics
Republic’s Southern Nevada page confirms that refrigerators are accepted at its transfer stations and landfills for a charge. By contrast, Cheyenne Transfer Station and Henderson Transfer Station currently accept several categories at no charge, including household electronics, televisions, ovens, microwave ovens and general kitchen appliances.
Those free drop-off services are currently listed as available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Residents should still check the live facility page before a special trip in case of operational changes.
Household hazardous waste
Republic operates dedicated Household Hazardous Waste drop-off service in Southern Nevada. Paint, automotive fluids, chemicals and other HHW should use the current Republic HHW calendar rather than the normal bulk pile or transfer-station garbage area.
Large cleanouts and renovation debris
For projects too large for the normal bulk schedule, Republic offers residential dumpsters. Current Southern Nevada options include 10-yard containers for heavy material such as concrete/brick/dirt, 20-yard containers for house and yard cleanouts or small remodels, and 30-yard containers for larger cleanouts, tree trimming and light demolition.
That makes a dumpster the clearer route for major renovation debris than trying to stretch an ordinary residential bulk set-out.
Jurisdiction matters even with one major provider
A “Las Vegas, NV” mailing address can be inside the City, unincorporated Clark County or another nearby jurisdiction. Republic may serve all of them, but calendars, billing and franchise rules differ. Always use the address-based schedule rather than assuming the City of Las Vegas calendar applies.
